So, the challenge for Day 19 was to incorporate one of Fusion Beads' seed bead woven fringe techniques. I decided to use the coral fringe on a beaded focal pendant. I made the base of the pendant with brick stitch. At first I did a single row of fringe in the silver-lined gold, but I thought it looked a little straggly and disconnected from the warmer tones of the base of the pendant. So I decided to bridge the tonality of the first row and the pendant with a second row in dark topaz. As an added benefit, the second row of fringe provided contrast with the lighter-colored first row, giving all of the fringe more definition and volume.
I decided that I wanted to dress up the pendant, so I sewed on a coral coin bead with a circular brick stitch embellishment. I liked the color of the bead and how it thematically tied together.
To attach the pendant, I created bails out of ladder stitch. The pendant was strung on a simple freshwater pearl and bronze round necklace.
