The Dark Is Rising...

Almost finished re-reading The Dark Is Rising by Susan Cooper. I forgot just how much I enjoyed these books. It's been busy around here. Working hard on all my various projects. I'm making plans to go to the Siren Music Festival this weekend at Coney Island before it is no more and enjoy some beach time while it lasts. My prospective roommate flaked out, so it's back to trying to find a new one. The new potential roommates are promising.

I love Susan Cooper. I had the pleasure of hearing her talk about writing at a children's book conference this winter. She is amazing. I need to finish that book.

I must read this. This series came out at a time when I was not reading this sort of book-- how wonderful this author sounds!

Hey Heather Powers,

They're really good so far! I "read" them a long time ago, but I don't recall anything from them. It's so weird, because usually I can summon up specific pages from books from my memory. But I just draw blank when I try to remember these ones. Strange. It's especially strange when you feel as though you've already read something, but it's still fresh and new.

Hello Jean! They're wondeful books and I really have enjoyed re-discovering them. I just have to finish this book as quickly as possible so that I can start reading Harry Potter tonight!
