For this design, I used a colorful ceramic skull bead from
Gaea. Gaea has some really fantastic skulls in her
Day of the Dead series. To go with the skull bead, I used some faceted pearls from
Talisman Associates Inc., goldstone from
Bead Trust, Swarovski crystal pearls from
Fusion Beads, and brass and copper chain from
Ornamentea. To pull it all together, I used a decorative toggle clasp from
Vintaj.

Gaea's bead is such a nice counter point to the darker beads in this piece. Love that chain at the back of the necklace.
I'm still relatively new to your blog (though once I "found" you, I come back daily). I have a question that I really hope you'll address b/c maybe others are interested. When you tell what your jewelry is made from you always say where you got the various items. What I would love to know is how you keep track of all that. What sort of inventory/filing system do you use? I'm also pretty new to the whole jewelry thing and am overwhelmed by my stash at the moment! I surely couldn't tell you where I got what but I would like to start a system that would allow me to do that. Thanks much! -- Sally
