After breakfast, we usually go for a drive. Not far. I feel guilty about wasting gas. But I love to ride in a car with the windows down and the wind blowing along the country roads. I invent tasks and chores to be done to justify these little luxurious rides. I love my Sunday mornings.

Sunday Mornings...
Sunday mornings are quickly becoming some of my favorite times of the week. Many of my friends tell me how they sleep in on Sundays. (In some cases, it's a mandatory recovery time from their Saturday night excesses.) For me though, I get up early on Sunday mornings. Everyone else is asleep. Even the cats. I open the windows and devote an hour or so to cleaning. I take the time to reflect on the week that has gone by and on things I want to achieve in the week to come. Once I finish cleaning, I brew dark coffee and make breakfast. Generally, I'm not a breakfast person. Breakfast is usually an afterthought I grab out of necessity, but on Sundays I make an exception. Usually I turn on some jazz and the cats reluctantly and sluggishly plop down beside my feet. This morning I made zucchini pancakes. They were light and fluffy. The golden discs doused in maple syrup and topped with a pad of sweet butter melted in my mouth and were simply scrumptious.

Sunday for us is church, followed by lunch with parents, siblings, etc. Then we either play cards, take a drive in the country, or visit a pond or low water bridge. Its a full day of doing nothing with family. Love it!
I like to get up early on Sunday mornings too - I normally teach a wee girl (singing) and so it's a good excuse to be up, have a leisurely cup of Earl grey, and enjoy the peace and quiet that a Sunday morning always have - it's different than any other time of the week and I do like it. My friends and I have recently started a regular Sunday brunch meeting and I look forward to catching up with them over eggs and tea - perfect as far as I'm concerned! I'm glad you enjoy your Sunday mornings too.
If I lived near you, I would be visiting with a big box of oranges, for fresh squeezed juice to go with that delicious breakfast!! Blog On my friend !!
