Wounded by Words...

I wrote a long, angry post entitled, "The Truth about Trash (Talk)."  But I decided not to post it.  My blog is a place where I try to be optimistic and hopeful.  The world already has so much negativity in it – it doesn't need more from me

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't hurt by the slanderous words being spoken behind my back.   I won't go into too much detail about it, because it won't serve any purpose besides making me more upset.

Instead of being wounded by words and trying to wound someone back, I'm going to make a list of ten words that make me happy:

1.  HOPE.
2.  Simplicity.
3.  Kindred.
4.  Blessing.
5.  Abundance.
6.  Precious.
7.  Balance.
8.  Perfect.
9.  Grace.
10.  Mellifluous.

I hate mean people and understand how you feel. *hugs* I truly wished that I had more time to talk with you at Tucson, hopefully next year! Be happy, that will drive them nuts LOL

Idren Andrew,

When people are mean it is because they are in pain themselves.

I am delighted you are taking a positive path and focusing on words that make you happy. The ones who have hurt you only want you to feel the pain they feel.

The best revenge is living well!

Bless Up,
Lady Roots

Your post touched my heart. Let's add a few of words that help everyone: love, friendship, kindness, compassion, tenderness

Hope those help you. And Lady Roots is correct -- living well is the best revenge, and it doesn't hurt anyone.

You are such a good person, Andrew! I, on the other hand, am less good and would gladly kick some trash talking butt for you. (OK, so I'm not that tough, but I would sic my three attack rabbits on them:)

People who talk trash have NO agenda for themselves therefore they are consumed by you and no doubt others! If they had "it" going on they wouldnt be even bothered by you. So your doing alot right! Ive never met you but you are I believe a very sweet man whos very talented and driven. Heres a big hugg for you Andrew! I think the world of you as do the rest of us! x

If they aren't brave enough to say it to your face then it isn't anything important enough to spend time & energy on.

A line I learned to help me out is: "What other people think of me is none of my business". Been using that for over 20 yrs with excellent results.

It means so much to me to have the support of so many wonderful and talented people. It really is an amazing feeling.

THANK YOU! ALL of you are great.

Blogging and responding to this in a constructive way instead of a destructive way was probably the best way to get over this situation and get a little perspective. Instead of spinning around in a rage, it allowed me to be more positive and be the person I want to be.

THANK YOU for this opportunity.

The situation made me really sad. Mostly because it was extremely unprofessional of this person and their trash talk has potential negative repercussions. In my mind, this happening in a social environment is one thing (still bad) but magnified tenfold when put in a business context. This person's bad talk could damage my reputation and make it hard for me to get work in a certain field, which is really bad!
