Nouveau Royale...

Here's a new piece that I've been working on. I call it, Nouveau Royale. I've been working in the studio like mad trying to finish everything up. I am one of those people who is very ambitious and will often times bite off more than they can chew as far as their designs and projects go. And since I don't like to cut corners and I like to spend time pouring myself into projects, it is often at the detriment of my creature comforts (namely sleep). Thusly, I kind of feel yucky today. I had high ambitions of running around and poking about various shops, scooting about green markets, traipsing through flower-laden park paths and going to different parties, but I'm worn out and still have a lot to do still yet.

I think I'll call it an early night tonight and catch up on some much needed rest.

Hi Andrew!
I looove this new piece. Very pretty! You've been using a lot of copper wire lately. Do you use it for an aesthetic reason? I really love the look of it and it's so pretty paired with the red! I might try to use some copper in my next pieces. I'm always using brass color wire! Silver is too darn expensive these days. Hope you have a good Sunday!

Hey Lorelei!

Thanks so much for your kind words. I have been using a lot of copper wire lately. I just love the way it looks. I found a great source on Etsy for handmade copper headpins. I haven't the time to really make them myself. I really should... but you know how it goes.

My favorite combination right now is copper and pink. Copper has a natural pink color to it. Thusly they really bring each other out.

I have been using a lot of brass as well. I'm in the midst of trying to create projects for various endeavours and it's not logical to use lots of gold or silver. The return is limited... so it is best to just create the illusion of something else.

I can't go too much into detail as they are TOP SECRET!
