This might not seem like anything extraordinary, but I am always struck by the display windows in local bodegas. Everything is in a row or stacked very neatly. Sometimes, like in the grocery stores like C-Town, they stack the canned goods in giant castles. (Those always seemed precarious to say the least and I would be filled with a sense of unease while walking down the aisles with a seed of worry in my heart that should someone knock into the carefully stacked pyramids, I might be buried alive -
or dead- under a tidal-wave of non-perishables.) In the more subdue corner deli shops, there is an intriguing pattern created in the everyday items of soaps, spices, shampoos, and various condiments.
