My good friend, Heather Wynn, forwarded me a link to Nina Design's "Have a Heart - Save a Child" campaign. Nina Cooper, the president of the company, has a goal of raising $60,000 for the Half the Sky Foundation to establish a new preschool and infant nurturing center in China. She created a silver heart charm for sale that donates the revenue collected to the cause.

I really admire anyone who is willing to fight for the rights of children. Everyone can help. Everyone can make the lives of these children better. You don't have to be a billionaire or a super celebrity. I'm not rich, but I got one of these charms to show my support. It's easy to rationalize why one can't help... but I think that sometimes we just need to act and show that we care!
