The Brooklyn Love Exchange...

One of my favorite contemporary artists has just launched a new project! Iviva Olenick, with sponsorship from the Greater New York Arts Development Fund of New York City Department of Cultural Affairs and the Brooklyn Arts Council, is working on a series called The Brooklyn Love Exchange. She transforms other people's love stories in Brooklyn into embroideries. It's an extension of her Were I So Besotted body of work and will be shown at the Muriel Guepin Gallery in the fall of 2011. To find out more, including sneak peeks of the work she's creating for the upcoming show and to interact with the project, CLICK HERE to check out the blog she started in conjunction with the project.

(Also CLICK HERE to check out the work that she's creating for the upcoming Affordable Art Fair running from May 5th to the 8th; it's GREAT!)
