Memory Lane...

One of my best friends came over for dinner tonight; I made a pork stir-fry and Greg and Cynthia picked up a delicious key lime pie. I've known Jenni for at least 15 years and it was definitely good to sit down and catch up with her. It was almost like time had stood still and we picked up where we left off, laughing until our sides hurt with a commentary for everything.

Some of my best memories include my good friend. We spent many a sunny afternoon exploring the neighborhood, riding bikes until our legs were useless, writing stories, painting pictures, and most of all... dreaming. Neither of us came from what one would call a privileged background, but we still made the best of things and had GRAND plans with limitless horizons. It was nice to laugh again under those BIG skies.

I had a good time visiting with friends and going back to the place I grew up. Though it was really strange. Good, but strange.

So true so true. Great to place our feet in each other's worlds again, however briefly. My favorite is the reassurance that despite time the memories, love and bond remain. It is strange all the pieces that are similar and reconciling that with what's changed. It sho is fun to eat and laugh and reconnect. I like seeing all the food on your blog!!! yum!
