KGI Worldwide Design Contest Update...

Two of my pieces were selected as semi-finalists for the KGI Worldwide Design Contest. Although I didn't place, it was still really fun and they took some really nice pictures of my pieces. The necklace on the left is called, "A Necklace for Frida" and the bow-tie like necklace on the right is called, "Rites of Spring." Check out the winners and more by CLICKING HERE.

These are amazing! I love the use of the clasp in the Rite of Spring.

Hey Heather! Thanks so much! I had a lot of fun making them. I like the way the Rites of Spring necklace clasps in the front as well. It's a neat way to play with balance and work with organic shapes, like the Swarovski leaves.

Hey Maureen,

Thanks so much! I'm pretty fond of both of them myself!

Thanks Marbella! I've been enjoying your Interpol playlist and the pictures of your tidy studio. You might need to make a trip to Brooklyn to help me get the beast in order. (Though compared to a few months ago when you couldn't even walk in the room, it's doing significantly better!)

Hey Rupa! I like decorative clasps, because it provides a catalyst to think differently when designing. The solution doesn't always have to be, "Wear your hair up," but could be a reason to move the clasp in the front.

Hey Sheila! Thanks so much! They are pretty light. I guess it's because they've got a pretty evenly distributed weight around the entire pieces. Even though crystals look light and airy, they can weigh a ton if not weighted throughout a piece.
