Needed some Nag Champa and stopped in this store on my way home. They sold various goods from Africa, including incense, statues, metalwork, and BEADS! They were pretty much giving away these lampwork ones - so, I couldn't refuse.
Thats great how can anyone resist lampwork? Speaking of lampwork my hubs going to take classess with me...which is great b/c hell understand all the workings and safety and costs. My Birthdays in Sept...hey Ron I want a tank for my bday! lol So what will you do with these pcs I think youll save them for now in your stash. Janet :)
Yeah, these are really just funky lampwork beads that I'll hold on to until just the right project comes along. They remind me of the ones I used to make a long time ago.
I don't really know what I'd ever do with these ones, but I think I'll eventually find a piece that needs a little help from one of these ones.
I'm going to see when I get back if they have any opalescent Dutch glass from the 1600's. These were priced for almost a song... so it might be interesting to see how much a nice strand will go for. Last time I checked, it was going for $200 a strand. Perhaps they'll have it cheaper? We'll see.
