Behind my apartment building, rain trees grow. I am familiar with them. One used to grow in our front yard back in Florida. It got struck by lightning and I remember us running out to see that it was on fire. Today has been a muggy and rainy day, not conducive for much activity at all.

Hi Andrew do you mean Mimosa trees? thats what we always called them...the ones with the pink flowers. I Love those trees! I just planted one and the lawn mower man cut it down I was like nooooooo! Its growing back but I keep telling to it grow! The scent of those flowers is lovely. Is this the tree you mean? Its a shame but they are considered a weed by many!
It's the same tree. They also used to go by, dollar trees. I never knew why.
They grow here in New York, which surprised me at first. Mainly because I think of it as such a tropical tree.
The one directly behind my apartment is dead. All winter long I kept thinking about it and it being full of leaves again. No leaves came though. You can see one of the branches in the picture. The barren ones stick out against the lush ones.
You know these trees are susseptable to a blight and wiped out many years ago. I wanted one so much I had to go on ebay to get one!
I thought you were going off for some quiet-then I check here and you have all sorts of stuff up!
cool stuff !!!
