To the left is a sculpture done by Wendy Froud. It has served as another point of inspiration for one of the projects that I'm working on. It is interesting to delve into the research behind the "deer woman" and "antler girls." According to some Native American sources, the deer woman is a beautiful temptress who lures men away from their homes and lives, to leave them in madness. Apparently, the only way to detect if this woman is not human, you have to look at her feet, which if it is a deer woman will be a set of deer hooves.
The abundance and diversity of mythos is really astounding. It'll all become apparent why I'm doing this research soon enough.
