New Owl Medallions...

The studio has been very busy the past few days. Actually the contained chaos of the studio has spilled out into the kitchen and living room with outposts in the bedroom and on the deck. I imagine that after the work binge is over, I'll get to tidying up.

Fresh out of the tumbler are my new owl medallions! I like how rustic and stylized they are. They're definitely not as detailed as the one Cynthia made that should be arriving shortly. Even still, I think they're charming if I don't say so myself! The mold I carved was quite deep, making these pendants on the heavier side. They've got a nice reassuring weight to them and fit perfectly in the palm of my hand.

Sadly, the mold broke, so there are only ten in existence. (Well, actually... eleven. But I'm keeping one for myself.) So CLICK HERE to swing by the Shop and scoop your's up before they're extinct!

This is so cute! Too bad about the mold! Remember to bake them thoroughly and make them at least 1/4" thick (a little thicker wouldn't hurt).

Love the new banner, by the way.

I think the problem was that it was so deep that it created weak spots. After pushing and pressing, it finally gave out and snapped in half.

I might make a mold of one of the medallions and retool it. It would be nice if they shrunk a little.

Oh, my gosh! I LOVE these!!! They are WONDERFUL and remind me of those ancient coins (Roman, I think? Or Greek?) with the owl on them. Wonderful!
