Muddy, bloody, and sore...

It is a little after 4AM. After a long day at school, packed full of meetings, I went out with my friend Josh. I had a couple of drinks and then went home. While waiting for the train, apparently I fell asleep while standing up and fell into the train tracks. Luckily there was no train coming and two gentlemen came to my rescue and pulled me from the tracks. My Oscar Della Renta jacket is covered in mud, my knee is skinned, my hip is bruised, and my left hand is scraped up, but other than that... I am fine. Just muddy. Tired. Bloody. And sore.

I'm so glad you're ok. What a scary thing to happen. Glad that those men were there to help you out!

Thanks for all your concern. I think that I would have been able to get out all right myself. Although I had had a few drinks earlier in the evening, I was just tired. More than tired. Exhausted. But, believe me... when I hit the tracks, I woke right up! I think when the guys sort of threw me out of the tracks, they may have hurt me more than if I had climbed out myself. For instance, I don't think my knee would have gotten skinned. But I am thankful for their bravery and sentiments. Luckily it was the middle of the night and there was a 30 minute wait between trains.

What I didn't appreciate was when one of them tried to interrogate me about falling in. I think he thought I was extremely drunk, but I was... probably, more sober than he was.

Well, I'm happy that I'm alive and that I'm relatively well. Just sore.

I thought about that after I wrote, that you probably were very much awake when you hit the ground! Those men were probably shaken up by seeing you go down onto the tracks, so they were probably releasing their adrenaline by throwing you off the tracks and then by the one guy interrogating you. Sometimes it is just better to not be helped. On that note, if you need something for the soreness, homeopathic Arnica is good for bruises and muscle injuries. Take care. I have to run and pick up the kids from their Magic (MTG cards) tournament.

Surprisingly, I'm healing very quickly. This morning I decided to name my hip-bone, "Billy." Instead of cursing everytime I felt a stab of pain, I would say, "COME ON, BILLY!"

Now my hip is relatively well. The swelling has gone down and it actually didn't bruise too horribly. It's just bruised along where "Billy" juts out. It only hurts if I poke it.

My knee is the biggest problem. It sounds like there's a box of Rice Krispies Cereal inside... Snap, Crackle, and Pop! But after being on it most of the day at work, it is hurting much less.

You need to go to bed! Your gonna get run over! Your lucky Mom doesn't read this or youd be on the phone for an hour apologizing for your carelessness! Glad your o.k.!

I think if I were your big sister, I'd have a real hard time with this too!
But that was good to focus your energy on your hip in a good way, instead of prolonging the injury by focusing on the pain. Now you just need a name for your knee...

I'll try to rest more, but I've only got a month left of school and I have SOOOOO many things going on.

This is just another sign that I need to hire a personal driver. :-)

I think the name "Julio" would be cool for my knee. Or maybe I'll name it "Dryfus." We'll see.
