So, I just got word that I can finally reveal if I placed or not in the Bead Star Competition.  I did!  I won 3rd place in the glass category.  The necklace below, Serenity's Garden, will be featured in the first ever beading competition magazine.  A BIG thank you to all of you out there who believed in my designs and voted for them!  Thank you so much!  CLICK HERE for the Bead Star magazine press release.

Congratulations to you! I picked up a copy of the mag the other day at my bead store. I was excited to see you in it! Beautiful necklace. Love the colors. It really does emanate serenity!

The magazine is out already!??! Oh man, I should see if I can find a copy.
Barnes and Noble carrying it??

Thanks everyone for your kind words!

And they said that Barnes and Noble should have it next week and that only the bead stores that pre-ordered it got it. It doesn't make sense to me, but I'm used to being one of the last people to see my stuff in print.

You know, I'm really honored and flattered. I mean, I've gotten a lot of good feedback and high praise from some really amazing designers... see the above comments. :-) That means the world to me. It's one thing when a random person says, "Oh, that's pretty." And it's another when people who know how to work with beads and work with jewelry and manipulate the craft to do what they want say it.

Thanks again everyone! I think I'm going to bake a pie to celebrate!

Thanks again everyone! I really love opalescent glass and I think that came through here. One of the things that I love about opalescent glass is that even though it's cool colored and pale and white, it also holds a fire in it and flashes warm tones and colors. Paired with gold-colored beading wire and more overtly warm colored glass rondelles contrasted with blues, really makes the fire inside of them light up!

THANKS AGAIN EVERYONE!
