I still wanted to participate. So, I put a call out on Facebook. William baked some chocolate chip cookies, Jayne popped open a bottle of bubbly, and a few of us "met up" online to chat about our current projects.
1. Lynne Suprock of Simply Pretty Stuff was planning a trip out our way to spend time with her father-in-law. And while her visit technically wasn't part of our shindig, it is always good to see her and we had a nice time chatting and coming up with new ideas. 2. Alison stopped in. She wanted to play along with the Challenge and made a pair of earrings (for the Day 1 prompt) that were inspired by my button earrings that I made. She used the TierraCast buttons with agate and leather. 3. Part of my party plans included untangling some recycled sari silk ribbon. 4. Laurel picked up the "faux opal" plastic cabochons in a Destash Event and started gluing them into stamped bezel links. 5. Part of my other beady plans was to launch some of the bronze coin pendants. You can see them by CLICKING HERE. 6. Laurel had some company of her own during the "party". Her dog and cat snuggled up together in her bead stash spread out on her bed.
While it was hard to get a group together, I'm still happy that we were able to fudge this prompt and make it work in our own way. I think we captured the spirit of gathering and making things and bouncing ideas off of each other. And that's what's important.
There's still plenty of time to play along with this challenge. I can understand being busy and that's the beauty of self-directed challenges... you can dip in and out of prompts and participate when time allows or when you feel like you need an extra little push. It's a wonderful way to jump start your creativity. CLICK HERE to see the full calendar!
