This will be just a quick post since it's nearly 4 AM and I need to get some sleep before work.
I just got back from a party in Bushwick called, Rubulad. You can read more about it by CLICKING HERE. It was pretty fun. The theme was Gods and Goddesses. I didn't really get dressed up, but enjoyed very much those who did and went all out. I'll know better for next time.
Anyway, it was really fun. Pretty crazy with all the people and the different spaces and all the decorating. It was really neat.

What, no pictures?? You'll just have to go back and take pictures! :-)
Here's a mental picture: The entrance to the party was called, "The Tunnel of Love." It was basically a one-flight up stair-well that had been arched with red glowing rope lights, hung with red paper swan cut-outs, the evolution of man and his porn (illustrated in a cartoon style on various panels of cardboard, proceeding from a monkey to an alien), tissue paper hearts, glitter encrusted hearts, baby-dolls tied to the ceiling, streamers dangling down, and the stairs covered in red rubbery paper. Don't forget all the other signs and posters about the evolution of love and the plethora of fake flowers.
And that was just the entrance.
Sounds awful and overwhelming ;-)
Must have been fun!
Thanks for the mental picture...you've got quite a memory!
It was pretty crazy.
I sometimes forget my own name, but can tell you about everything that was in the room I was just in. From dust bunnies to the light reflecting off of a mirror that made funny shapes on the ceiling.
It's pretty amazing! I can zoom in on little details like that, but I can also trip over the most obvious things...you seem to be able to take it all in and remember it all in detail and also where everything was in relation to everything else. I'd have to sit for an hour and absorb it all before I could remember all those details!
Sounds interesting... on July 7th an event in Manhattan called Spiegel (http://www.spiegelworld.com/groups/groups.html) begins. It's quoted as the "worlds most beautiful traveling venue." Lady Soivergn (I know I butchered that name) is the first act and then all of the others over a two weeks span I'm unsure of.
you guys are a fun read! Al I had was the Electric Circus in the 60's, and th eSurf Club in the 80's. and Area, or something. no private parties! just clubs!
Hi Jean,
Andrew makes me wonder why I left Brooklyn! I guess it was because I never saw any of these great events ;-(
Cindy: I am so jealous of what he did up higher--i have been reading the most recent reports from Andrew, now--geesh!
Jean, what are we going to do about this? I think he's trying to drive us nuts ;-)
Ha ha ha, I can't help it if there are lots of fun things to do.
It's torture, but don't stop ;-)
