Soon...

A bright light shines.  It whispers, "You are almost finished.  You are almost finished!"  The light seems far away now, but it will rise with the morning sun and then I will be done.  The words grow louder in my mind.  "You are almost finished!"  I am giddy with the prospect of turning my attention away from counting, measuring, and configuring.  Just a little bit more and I'll make something sloppy and messy without directions, instructions, or exact amounts.  I'll go for a walk and not feel guilty that I should be starring at the computer, shifting through seas of red and notes to self.  I will sip my coffee slowly, enjoying the flavor and aroma and not gulp it down out of necessity, urging my body and mind to keep going, going, GOING!

A bright light shines and it squeals with joy, "YOU ARE ALMOST FINISHED!"

Okay, I'll bite. What are you almost finished with?

Like the little engine that could. "I think I can, I think I can...". Keep chugging along. It'll feel so good when you get to the top of the hill!

Hey Lynn!

I'm tech editing Cynthia's new book, Enchanted Adornments. I'm almost finished. It's a lot of counting and measuring and math and well... technical stuff.

Hola, Carter!

I can't wait till I'm at the top of the hill! Hurray for the top of the hill!

I have loved so much being apart of Cynthia's dream and supporting her vision. It really has been both educational and inspirational. However, the technical editing and getting into the nitty-gritty has started to make my eyes cross. It's taking way longer than I or anyone else planned. I think I might be too critical because I want to do a good job. However, I think that being too critical is leading me to second guess myself and making me go over the same material over and over and over to try and make it perfect.

I think I'll have a beer when I get to the top of the hill to celebrate.

As you should have beer when you reach the top of the hill. Editing is very hard job!

Hey Erin!

OH, how I love the light! It always gives me such great pleasure when I complete a project. I'm here in Asheville now helping Cynthia finish up some of her work that's left. It's good and exciting to see all the pieces starting to come together.
