There are actually two Mystery Components this time! The first is set of five faux Moroccan Amber beads made out of polymer clay. To make them, I experimented with mixing polymer clay to get just the right blend of opacity and translucence. Then I stained them and hand-buffed each bead to give it a satiny shine.
I also included a leaf charm made out of polymer clay. I used layers of Gilder's Paste, alcohol inks, and acrylic paints to give a little pizzazz. I had originally thought that I'd make these out of porcelain, but then there were some issues with my kiln and I had to resort to a backup plan. I'm quite pleased with them though and I can't wait to see what people will make out of the Mystery Components.

I am having soooo much fun with these components. I have already made a couple designs and have more to go.
These mystery components are so fabulous. Thank you!
I love the mystery components. There are so many ways I can use them I haven't been able to decide!
Andrew, you might want to think of doing a blog hop where people post their projects that weren't completed by the project hop deadline!!! My creation for this scheduled blog hop is still on the beading tray! So many ideas ....
Can't wait to see what others share!!!
