Matcha Green Tea Pudding...

I was inspired by Candice Wakumoto's recent goodies from Japan and a dessert she described from her travels to experiment in the kitchen a little.  I started out with a standard pudding recipe and blended in some matcha green tea powder before the mixture thickened.  The texture was velvety, the flavoring subtle, and the color BRIGHT GREEN!  My next experiment will be a matcha-flavored rice pudding.

That's a good idea. Is it good like green tea ice cream? Haagen Daas makes a good green tea ice cream.

Hey LeAnne, it's more like green tea flan. Though I'd like to try a green tea sorbet and a green tea gelato. That'd be delicious!

Hey Marbella! I love rice pudding too. There's a really great place called rice to riches in SoHo that makes some of the best rice puddings I've ever had. We've been trying to figure out the recipes for some time now. I think we got it. We'll see.

Hey Sheila! It's good. I liked it a lot. I don't know if it's AS good as the ice cream. That's a pretty hard ice cream to beat. Yummy, yummy, yummy!
