Gifts from Japan...

My good friend, Candice Wakumoto made a recent trip to Japan.  She sent me a goodie box filled with an assortment of treats from Japan and Hawaii.  She sent everything from black toiletries, snacks, and special ice cream spoons, to reusable shopping bags and a fancy ear-picker.  My favorite was the matcha green tea flavored Kit-Kat bars.  They were delicious!  I also love the Cora Yee card as well!  I'm going to put a goodie box together for Candice with things from New York and from my next trade show destination, Milwaukee.  Not quite as exotic, but hopefully still lots of fun!

What a sweet friend!! And such an interesting goodie-box. Half of my family is from Japan and a few times a year one of my aunts sends me a similar goodie box...it's so much fun, never know what you'll find. I bet it will be fun making up a box from NY!

Green tea flavored?! Hmmm...I would try anything once!
If you are picking up goodies from Wisconsin (where I am from) there are lots to choose from! But you probably can't send cheese in the mail! In my neck of the woods you would have to include Point Root Beer (yum) and something with the Brewers on it. Hope to see you at the B&B show! Have a safe trip! Enjoy the day! Erin

Hey Cindy! Yeah, it was such a treat to receive the goodie box. I was away when it original came and both Candice and I feared that it was either lost or on its way back to her. Luckily it made its way to me. I have been enjoying ALL the goodies. Though the savory/sweet crackers in the shape of flowers are a bit strange.

Hey Kristin! THEY WERE so good. It took all my power not to devour them all in one swooping motion into my mouth!

Hey Jenna! Isn't it sweet. There's two, so I'm going to give one to Azalea for her "sushi restaurant". She has a plastic sushi set that she likes to serve out. I think she'll like it and it'll be good to hold all the little pieces and parts that I've unfortunately had the experience of stepping on in the middle of the night! EEK!

Hey Erin! Thanks for the suggestions! We stop at the Cheese Castle every year to load up on local and foreign goodies. There's all sorts of treats to pick from. And I guess it would depend on the type of cheese, but still... I don't know how well that'd go over.

Jamba Juice has a Matcha Green Tea shake that I'm absolutely addicted to. It's creamy and energizing and it's perfect on a hot day!

Hey Jolene! Isn't pretty awesome! I love Candice! She always sends me the coolest things. She's really amazing. I've admired her work for a long time. Cynthia had some of her pieces and I coveted them with all my heart. I feel in love with them even more after I got to know Candice. She's really funny and I have a blast when I see her and her husband Paul in Tucson.

Did you get to meet her?

Hey Melissa,

I have dreams of one day going there. I absolutely love what I've seen. There are just so many things that stand out, from different traditions, to how absolutely different it is from anything else that I've ever experienced... I really want to go one day!

Hey Sarkilahti! Yeah, they were TASTY! I'm rationing them out so that they last as long as possible. (Which isn't very long at all!) But they were GREAT!
