As a Matter of Fabric...

This week, two shows open on Thursday evening that interestingly incorporate fabric and textiles.  My friend and artist, Heejo Kim, of Blank Space is mounting an exhibit of renowned Korean fashion designer Lie Sang Bong's work entitled, Fashion Architect: Thread Construction.  Iviva Olenick is participating in a show called, Social (Virus), at Nuture Art in Bushwick.  She'll be showing embroidered pieces from her Were I So Besotted series (which I wholeheartedly love) featured on her blog.

I was not familiar with Lie Sang Bongs work but it looks really interesting. I love the things in the paris collection, such clean lines, and geometry. The Fashion Architect show should be intersting. Let us know more if you see it. I too love the Were I So Besotted work.

We should trade if you're up to it! I'm kind of busy right now, but I'd love to have some of your tile work and such or one of your vessels. That is if you'd want a piece I made.
