Productivity...

The other night I got the urge to torch enamel some beads.  When you're making these beads, you bring your thumb and forefinger together and twist the mandrel to spin the bead in the flame.  Sometimes my hands crave that repetitive motion.  I've learned not to ignore this sensation, because then I won't do it at all.  It's best to ride the wave and enjoy the productivity that is the result of that.

I'll probably divide up tis pile into matching pairs and work on some earrings.  I love the glossy, candy-colored effects or enamel.  I'm quite pleased with my yield.

Beautiful work. I also love the rings in your last few posts. (Can you tell I'm catching up on my blog reading?) I feel the same way about the repetitive motion of knotting between a whole strand of beads. I love how it feels like sort of a meditation.

They're lovely... and I know exactly what you mean. I am a glass beadmaker and also find that rotating movement very meditative. I think all creative people are seeking those moments of 'flow', and it's easy to get there when your hands are busy and your mind is free.
