We were super fortunate to have Les Polinko come out to Ligonier to teach and do a meet-the-artist event yesterday. Les is a super talented fantasy artist and her schedule is pretty packed with festivals, conventions, and production mode to get ready for all the happenings. Luckily we got to spend a lovely afternoon with her!
Here are all the finished Fairy Houses. Each of them lights up and has a little electric tea light inside. Aren't they charming? Even though we all worked from the same style of Fairy House, each one was unique and personalized! We made up little stories about the fairies that lived in each of the dwellings.
Here's a picture of the students and our creations! So much fun! Everything turned out wonderful! I'm so proud of all my fellow classmates who made such enchanting little structures! For some of them, this was their first time working with polymer clay.
After the class, we headed back over to Allegory Gallery to have the Meet-the-Artist event. It was a lot of fun! We had yummy French pastries from Warrior King Pastries! We even ordered a pizza to go with our wine. Les shared more of her whimsical creations and talked a little bit about her work and her process. We were all simply charmed by her little critters and creatures! So cute!
Here's a picture of William, Les, and me at the Meet-the-Artist Event. What a fantastic day! The weather couldn't have been nicer and we got to spend the day with Les! She's such an incredible artist and person.
It looks like story-time at Allegory Gallery! We picked up these little goodies for the shop. The mandrake has already found a home, but several of the snail babies are awaiting adoption. They have so much personality and character! I love their little expressions.
Many thanks go out to Les for coming out to Ligonier! We also wanted to show appreciation for all the students and folks who attended the Meet-the-Artist Event. Without your support we wouldn't be able to bring this kind of programming to the area. So THANK YOU! I think everyone would agree that it was a magical Sunday with Les Polinko.
