I've been meaning to post about this for awhile now, but have been out of commission. While in Philadelphia, I ran into Diana Ptaszynski of Vintage Blue Studio. It's always nice to see friends at the show! I remember when I first met Diana. I had a rather unfortunate experience of being almost knocked out, not once, but twice in the hot tub in the hotel room.
Anyway, while we were chatting, I was showing her some of my goodies from my personal traveling bead stash, when out came the polymer bird-head pendant from Heather Powers of Humble Beads. I picked up this little prize from Heather at the Bead & Button show. Diana commented on how she also had one of Heather's pendants. At that moment, we decided on a throw-down! Here's what I made:

Fantastic color combination! I saw some of these pendants of Heather's at Bead Fest, they are so bright and colorful in person!! Nice work Andrew! I love how you used the long pewter botanical connector too!
These colours are so soft and a beautiful compliment to the pendant from Heather.
that is beautiful... the focal is so integrated into the whole, and while the necklace definitely has a 'theme', it has the overall effect of being gorgeously harmonious color-wise... mission accomplished!
You really nailed it. Perfect choice of stones for that Humblebeads focal! Very soft and feminine and fluttery for a spring day. Thank you for your inspiration today.
Enjoy the day!

A humblebeads throw down, you crack me up. I love the necklace, such a beautiful collection of airy blues.
Andrew you sure know how to dress up a humblebead. Your design is gorgeous. Perfect combination of GGS beads and color.

Beautiful piece!
I like the way it turned out too. :o)
The necklace is gorgeous! I love the combination of subtle hues and how your family's clasp works so fabulously with the bird head focal. I'll have to check your friend's blog to see what she did with it.
