The Return...

I got in late last night.  I was hit in the chest with a solid wave of heat as I exited the airport terminal.  I had heard that the northeast was stricken by a heat wave, but I hadn't really expected it.  The humidity weighing down on me didn't feel real.  The sweat on my face didn't seem like it was actually there.

I am sad to leave the show behind.  I got to see my family and spend time with friends whom I only see once or twice a year and met new people and made new friends.  It was a lot of work, but it was fun work and we had a great time.

I am glad to be back, but it is hard to leave everyone and everything behind.  I have not adjusted quite yet.  I'm not sure when it will all sink in and feel normal again.  Maybe when the routines and rituals fall back in place I'll finally return.

Hi Andrew-
It was great to hang out with you and get to know you and the Green Girl crew. I'm trying to settle back into the routines myself...why is that always so hard?

We might be coming to NYC in the next few weeks...we'll let you know if we do!

Cheers-
Carter

Hey Janet! It's nice to hear from you. The little things are easing my homesickness for my friends and family. It has been a rough couple of days, but I think that I've distracted myself with enough work and projects that the brunt of the blow is lessened. I still miss them and it still doesn't feel quite right yet. I've been having trouble sleeping lately, which isn't good at all.

Thanks Ruby Rose for you kind words. I have to keep telling myself that it will and I'm sure that eventually things will fall into place. Probably, around the time my next visit is scheduled.

Hey Cater! It was so lovely to get to know you better on this trip. I'm really glad that we had an opportunity to do so. You guys are great! I'm happy that we could see for ourselves what wonderful people you all are.

And as far as knowing why it's so hard... I can't really help you on that one. I'm still trying to figure that out myself.

That's awesome that you all might be coming to New York. Definitely get in touch with me and we'll hang out. I'd offer up my studio for you to all stay at, but unfortunately, it's not ready yet. Still yet, I'd love to see you all and show you around to some of my favorite places... especially the ones that have sweets and treats and goodies! You might not know this, but I'm addicted to sweets. ;-)

Thanks again for being awesome! And keep me posted!

Hey CARTER! So sorry for calling you "Cater". I guess I've been prepping far too many catering orders since I've returned and it's been burnt into my subconscious. My apologies, Carter!
