Stringing: Spring 2008...

I just got the latest issue of Stringing Magazine and saw my design, Ocean Bloom. The necklace features a beautiful lampwork piece I got from Paula Best's son-in-law, Nick Keresey. I've also got a couple of bracelet and earrings in this issue as well. You should definitely pick up a copy! It's full of inspirational designs from designers from around the globe. I particularly enjoy the Beads to Buy section spotlighting bee beads. Could it be my bee fetish?

This would be so much nicer with my starfish clasp on it, instead of this plain one. I'm your big sis, so its good to constantly harass you to use your family's stuff in everything you make!

True enough! I would have used a starfish clasp in Ocean Bloom, but I only had one with me and I used it in a bracelet on Page 52 of the same magazine.

Don't worry... I've been spreading the GGS love all around.

I love the bees too. I am deathly afraid but have a succinct fascination and respect for them. :)
I just bid on one of your necklaces.

Wow... I admire your ability to put it all together! I have so many ideas for pendants but none for finished pieces. I would be honored to "collaborate" with you in the future! Nice piece! -nick-

Hey Lorelei! I love the whole mythos that surrounds bees. It's really interesting. I love bees. They're awesome! I admire how hard they work and all that they do.

And... THANK YOU for BIDDING! You're awesome too!

Hey Nick! Thanks for dropping by and your kind words. I was really pleased with how it turned out. The pendant sort of brought everything together and was the starting point of the inspiration behind the necklace.

I'd be honored to collaborate with you in the future as well! Working with your piece was so easy and fun.

Good work!
