The theme for this week's Illustration Friday challenge is, "Heavy." I thought about a lot of different approaches that I might take, but ended up fixing an older piece to match the theme. Here is how it fits:
He tried not to think on his history. It was one of those things that were better left unsaid. Years had passed since he thought about any of it, but still - his history wore on him heavily. His features dripped with the weight of it all; they were ravaged.

this piece rocks
Nice patterning! The image does have a weightiness to it.
Beautiful & really conveys heaviness.
Very cool. Nice concept and heaviness to it. Love the texture and colors.
There is a real sense of heaviness in the colors, the expression and the composition which looks like the top is pushing the face downward. I see a touch of release in the upward moving vines... reaching for lightness of being, perhaps? Well done!
I am prejudiced and like everything you do.This is a lovely creation. these colors which you use... you once mentioned as some of your favorites--am I right? I could be wrong. I respond to them.
