Facelift...

The blog has received a facelift and I think is much brighter, lighter, and optimistic-looking. Honestly, it was hard for me to break away from the old look. I've maintained the same black background since the beginning of this blog and there's a comfort in familiarity. (And I am a creature of comforts... albeit small ones.) But lately I've felt restless and a need for change, a need to expand my horizons and broaden my outlook. Perhaps the little changes on my blog are reflective of my current state of transition in life? I don't know. In any event, I hope that everyone likes the new modifications and bares with me as the blog is updated and continues to develop.

The black was nice, but this is very calming. And the choice to use black and white photos is visually pleasing! Great eye, as always!

I actually like it! I like the clean look, I find it easier on my aging eyes to read (LOL), and I especially like that it reflects a change in direction for you. May the winds blow always at your back, Andrew. Wishing you well...
Enjoy the day! Erin

Hi Andrew! I like the lighter look! It has a winter white appeal! The black would actually burn your words into my eyes and I'd walk around the house seeing your ghosted words!

Well done! Liking the black and white and bright and clean look.

I'm telling you, it's October, getting ready to head into Scorpio and the dark months of winter ... always a big change month for me. My emotional pendulum never swings as wide as it does in October. I've been on a similar binge, going around fixing everything I can find that annoys me on a daily basis, clearing clutter, re-doing my desktop shrine.
Changing that energy! Exhilarating!

I dig it. I really dislike black blogs, they are elegant, but hard for me to read. I am happy happy you are on white and I really like your theme.

WOW Andrew I am away from my computer for a few days and look what happens - I love the new blog look - much brighter and warmer - maybe because I am not a fan of black backgrounds but I do like this so much better.

Here's to change in all its forms!!!!

I quite like your 'facelift.' My blog is still black, I cannot seem to bring myself to change it. sigh.

The changes are wonderful Andrew! I understand how you feel and honestly if I didn't know dark backgrounds help save the environment I would change mine as well.

Thanks everyone for the support. I've missed the black background... a lot. I think it makes the pictures look more saturated and crisp. Whenever we had a so-so painting in art school and couldn't figure out what to do to fix it... we'd put in a nice black frame and that seemed to be a magic trick.

The horrifying thing is that I didn't check my blog on other screens. What I thought was a nice neutral off-white looks garishly pale yellow on certain screens. I've since made it a pale shade of gray and hopefully it's medium value enough not to swing into crazy colors on different browsers or computers!
