Visual Vernacular with Iviva Olenick...

If you're in the New York area, you should head over to Shop Art Gallery this Saturday (October 3rd, from 6PM - 9PM) to catch the opening reception of Visual Vernacular. My talented friend, Iviva Olenick, will have over twenty of her beautiful pieces exhibited in this group show. I can't wait to see more of her, Were I So Besotted series! Each of her hand-embroidered works are heartbreakingly lovely. Make sure to come out and see the show!

Thank you for the link! Embroidery was my passion years ago...if only I thought of using it in this way. I enjoyed taking a peek!

I love Iviva's work. It really tugs at my heart. It's almost like reading someone else's diary, but feeling connections and common threads to very real experiences. AND I love her quirky sense of humor. It's not all doom and gloom in the dating world in an urban environment – there's an optimism that just makes the work shine for me. Really, I do adore her work!
