I remember always enjoying the silhouette paintings done by Ed Ruscha. There was just something so mysterious and enigmatic about them. I've been thinking about this for awhile and knew that I wanted to somehow translate that feel into porcelain.
These were a glaze experiment. I wanted to see how the glazes would react with one another, especially with the overglaze. Unfortunately, after applying the overglaze, some portions became much lighter and some became much darker. I am pleased with the technique and will play around with them further.
