Thursday Giveaway...

This week, one lucky winner will take home a copy of Margot Potter's new book, Bead Chic. This clever book of 36 designs with variations of each comes courtesy of the talented Margot Potter. Addressing the elements of jewelry design, Margot covers scale, color, texture, pattern, foundations, and focal elements. With these tools, she implores the reader to break away from the approach of creating exact replicas from books and magazines and to create something uniquely their own. The designs that are featured and techniques she employs are springboards of creativity and provide helpful examples of easy elegance. To learn more about Margot, visit her newly revamped website HERE or her crafting blog HERE.

To win a copy of this lovely book is simple! All you have to do is leave a comment on this blog post WITH the title of your favorite Margot Potter book (or one that you're dying to read). If you need help, I've created a list of books by Margot Potter. The list also includes books that feature Margot as a contributor, which will also work. One lucky winner will be randomly selected from the comment section of this post on Tuesday (September 14th) at midnight EST. Anonymous comments won't secure this prize! So, be sure to leave your name and email address if it doesn't already appear next to your entry. Don't forget to include the name of your favorite Margot Potter book (or the name one of her books you'd like to read)! This giveaway is open to all participants, including international readers.

Bonus Points: Do you really want this book? Earn additional entries by blogging, updating your Facebook page, and/or Twittering about this Thursday Giveaway. Don't forget to add your act of social media kindness as a SEPARATE comment to this blog post for your extra shots at this book.

  1. I think I like them all.

I know I have to pic one, so it would be "Bead and Wire Jewelry Exposed" as well as "Bead Chick". I went to B&N looking for it, but they did not have it in the store.

  10. They all look wonderful. I didn't realize she was a contributor to Enchanted Adornments (I've only read it through once so far). Thoroughly beautiful book, even on top of all the great info.

  21. Being in the UK,we do not have access to the wonderful books that are available in the US!That said,I have a hankering after a copy of The Impatient Beader.I have visited the biggest book store in Cardiff and cannot get any books on jewellery design. When I asked, they just shrugged their shoulders! So,if I could win one it would be just wonderful,as I am very much still a novice designer and need to learn a lot about all aspects of design,Anne.

  27. As I am new to beading (5 month now) I have to honestly say I haven't read any of her books. But if I had to pick one it would be: "Beyond the Bead: Making Jewelry with Unexpected things".

Especially since I am disabled and on a tight budget, finding things other than expensive beads would be great for me. I will post this on my FB page.

Please, Please send me this book. :)

  29. I first found Margot through the Impatient Crafter books. But this one looks like the one that I am dying to read. The fact that it shows how your artistic influence can reshape a piece from the inspiration it came from is all that I am interested in these days.

You are ever the generous one, Andrew. Thank you!

    Enjoy the day!

This book really appeals to me. I love the Victorian times and I really enjoy Science Fiction. So Steampunk brings the two together beautifully.

I'm a big fan of Barb Switzer, and my favorite book in the list (Margot is a contributor) would be Four Seasons of Beading.

I look forward to reading this book. I teach jewelry making classes, and I love introducing my students to the variet of books available!

  52. Well, I love Bead and Wire Exposed -- probably because I adore sparkly swarovski crystals! I am dying to get Bead Chic, though! I have been following the snippets on Margot's blog, and they are fantastic. The day I get my financial aid I'll be running down to Barnes and Noble to get Bead Chic.... hmmm, that's a perfectly valid school expense, right?

  53. What a great giveaway. I love the picture for the new book. I would choose Beyond the Bead. I started using polymer clay this year and have been eyeing things in the hardware store for usein jewelry making.
