The winner will win one boxwood Ojime bead, one crackle-glaze ceramic skull by Lisa Peters Art, one shibuichi super mini skull bead by Bob Burkett, one hand-carved bone bead and one carved blackened bone link pendant. The skull is perhaps one of the oldest symbols with a multitude of meanings, including mortality, eternity, vanity, rebellion, caution, mystery and defiance.

Last year the Bead Museum in Glendale, Arizona had an wonderful exhibit about head hunting cultures. Not only did they hunt and adorn themselves with human skulls, but a myriad of other skulls. The use of skull beads is now what those cultures use instead of real skulls.
