Sweet Relief...

I made it to Tucson safe and sound, but boy was it a long day. It was filled with many frustrations, but I tried my hardest not to be too upset by them. One of the first occurred at the post office. I wanted to send some things out before I left for the airport. Apparently I picked the exact time that the postmaster decided to go on lunch. They will have to wait till tomorrow.

The second came in the form of me locking my GPS in the car. While it would have been nice to have here in Tucson, I suppose it's not too bad.

The third frustration manifested itself as I arrived at the ticket counter exactly one minute too late to check my bag. (This is after an extended tour of the extended stay parking lot on the shuttle bus.) Apparently there was nothing that they could do. The person before me was going on the same flight. I almost wanted to scream when they told me that my suitcase wouldn't make it, all the while the guy in front of me's bags weren't even placed on the conveyor belt yet. I could have made it, but since I had a bag I had to be rescheduled.

Absentmindedly, I left my phone in my carry-on, which became a checked bag when we took off since it was a crowded flight and there was no where to put my bag. This meant that I couldn't notify Kate in advance of the change. Luckily the next flight wasn't too long after my original.

While I was being coughed on and sneezed on in the terminal and on the plane, I recalled that I had indeed forgotten some important things. The more I think about it, the more things come to mind. But hopefully I can arrange for these little overlooked things to find their way here.

There were lots of little frustrations and annoyances today, but luckily I am alive and well and finally here. (My fingers are crossed that I don't catch whatever my fellow travelers were carrying.) It was most excellent to see Kate! I am looking forward to our adventures.

I think it's time to collapse now though.

OMG!!! This sounds like a scripted scene! How can so many important things go awry in one day?
I hope this means that now u have all the flub-ups out of the way for the year and smooth sailing is in your forecast! ;)

Ahhh, the joys of traveling by plane!

Glad you made it safe and sound, which is what matters the most. The rest can be remedied.

Enjoy Tucson!

What a nightmare! Flying has become such a pain and I wish sick people would just *stay home.* Glad you made it here alright in the end and hope you stay healthy!

Oh, I'm so sorry it's been so crummy. At least you're there at last. Wishing you all the best and a ton-o-fun!
