I made a ring yesterday that is seriously beautiful. I couldn't stop looking at it for hours. I kept trying it on and playing with the bead. I actually was so caught up in its beauty that I forgot that I was wearing it and wore it to do some errands with Kate!
The rare "Opal" bead is riveted atop one of Kate's sterling silver size six rivet post rings. It's capped with a tiny fine silver disc. The pictures really don't do it justice. It doesn't fully express the depth and shifts of color within the bead.
I also left the bead a little loose. It spins a little, but not too much. One of the great things about Kate's rivet post rings is that the shape of the band is a rough oval. This is awesome for tall or top-heavy rings. It keeps the ring from moving around too much or flipping over. To put it on, all you have to do is turn the ring on its side, slip it on over the knuckle and then twist it around so that it's standing up properly.
I think that this ring turned out AMAZING!

It really is beautiful! It would distract me terribly - driving would be hard! :)
Very beautiful! Totally distracting I agree
It looked fantastic on him!
I love that it spins. I, too, would be easily distracted by this beauty.

OMG!!! I'm speechless!
Stunning! I love those basha beads. They are so beautiful and keeping it simple was the right thing to do.
Enjoy the day!

i liked it before you said it could spin...that put it over the top. way cool.
i love the colors of the beads and the silver together. lovely.
Gorgeous - perfect for that extraordinary Basha bead!
I am a huge fan of Barbara's! I love the idea of a ring that spins as I am figity by nature (and have a passion for big rings!) Good idea. Also, love the oval shank idea. I have used square as well to keep a top-heavy bauble from turning on my finger.
it's gorgeous! I've just started using one of the squared ring mandrels so my top heavy rings won't turn.
That is one kick butt gorgeous ring!
Excellent ring!
